Customizing this training to work with a police agency worked very well. The content offers common-sense, straightforward strategies that work. The challenges of policing are many, including high stress and rigid schedules. Still, the training provided solutions that work in this setting, and officers reported lower intention of quitting and improved perceptions of supervisor support.  We are pleased to have implemented this high-impact solution. It helped us improve workplace culture, reduce employee stress, and retain our workforce.

This training addresses some important workplace concerns

The blurring of lines between work and personal time, care giving responsibilities for children and an aging extended family members, long commute times, and non-standard work schedules are features of today’s workforce. Attending to work and non-work responsibilities can contribute to worker stress that can negatively affect health, safety, and wellbeing for workers and workplaces.

A barrier to addressing work/personal demands is that most employees work for smaller and medium-sized firms that do not have formal work-life policies, leaving most work-life/family flexibility practices, including family and sick leave, to be influenced by direct supervisors.
