Start Guide

The Safety & Health Improvement Program begins with a Start Guide. This guide introduces the program to your organization and provides step-by-step instructions on implementation.

Supervisor Behavior Tracking Guide

Supervisor behavior tracking is designed to help reinforce lessons learned in the training. Behavior tracking takes a few minutes a day and lasts for two weeks. Not only does this reinforce the training, it also helps track supportive supervisor patterns of interactions with employees.

Follow-up Guide

This guide helps supervisors and their teams improve work practices, communication, and the work environment. This is an essential part of the program to ensure practices are embedded into everyday work.

Leslie B. Hammer, Ph.D., is the Associate Director of Applied Research and Professor at the Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences at Oregon Health & Science University and Director of the Oregon Healthy Workforce Center, one of 10 centers of excellence in Total Worker Health® funded by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

Donald Truxillo, Ph,D., Professor at the Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick, Ireland. Previously, he worked in the areas of hiring and training in the public sector and as a professor in the industrial/organizational psychology program at Portland State University. He studies the methods employers use to hire workers and the experiences of job applicants during recruitment and hiring. In addition, he examines issues related to workplace safety and health as well as age differences at work.
